Man charged after golfing incident damages windshield

A 58-year-old man has been arrested and charged with mischief after a golfing incident took a wrong swing.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was hitting golf balls on Emma Street in Chatham when he struck and broke a windshield of a truck that was driving by.

Police said the man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was arrested, charged, and later released pending a future court date.

Man charged after allegedly assaulting a woman 

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an argument in Blenheim escalated into a physical fight.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was charged after taking a cellphone during an argument between a man and a woman late Tuesday night at a residence in that town.

Police said the man was arrested, charged with theft under $5,000, and three counts of assault.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic tip leads to the discovery of stolen car and cheques 

A 41-year-old Thamesville man is facing an impaired driving charge after a traffic tip led to police his location in Chatham late Wednesday night.

Police said their investigation led them to believe the driver was impaired by a drug.

Further investigation revealed that the man was also driving a stolen vehicle from West Lorne and that he was in possession of stolen cheques.

As a result, the man was arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged in possession of brass knuckles 

A 36-year-old man was arrested for showing up at a residence in Wallaceburg he had been banned from attending.

Police said they found the man at the residence Wednesday evening, adding that when officers searched him, they found some brass knuckles in his possession.

The man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with release conditions and being in possession of a prohibited weapon.

He was released pending a future court date of July 28, 2021.

Man charged after failing to comply with release conditions

A 61-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with violating his release conditions.

Police said the man was arrested on July 6 and released with several conditions - one being not to drive - when he was found driving on Nelson Street, early Thursday morning.

The man was arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
