COVID cases up two, second vaccine appointments expand to 18+

Lambton Public Health reported just two new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 3,599 confirmed cases, of which 3,497 have been deemed resolved, increasing the active case count by two to 40.

The death toll is unchanged at 62 and there is one active outbreak at Afton Park Place in Sarnia.

Bluewater Health had three COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Sunday.

Lambton Public Health has opened registration for second COVID-19 vaccine doses to everyone 18-years-old and up.

The health unit said those individuals who received their first dose of vaccine at least 28 days ago are now eligible to book their second shot.

You can book online at www.getthevaccine.ca or through the LPH vaccine call centre at 226-254-8222.

Earlier this month Lambton Public Health indicated it is unable to guarantee individuals will receive a particular vaccine brand for either their first or second shots due to unpredictable vaccine shipments.
