Chatham-Kent's Arts and Culture Network is paying tribute to local talent by inducting them into a new hall of fame.
The volunteer-based non-profit aims to recognize individuals and groups - past or present - who have distinguished themselves through their art or creative field.
Chair James Snyder said the organization is now accepting applications for entries into the Arts and Culture Heroes Hall of Fame.
"As we are a newly established organization it was determined that this would be a good project to sponsor and share with the Chatham-Kent community," said Snyder. "It's a good way to recognize arts and culture as a vibrant community and economic force within Chatham-Kent."
The deadline for nominations is on August 20th and those selected will be presented in September.
Snyder says he hopes to select five to six inductees each year and that remaining submissions will be kept for the following year.
"The nominees will also be noted on our Facebook page and our soon-to-be-developed webpage," he said. "Our aim is to promote and recognize all aspects of arts and culture."
