Man charged with domestic violence-related offences

A 37-year-old Chatham man is facing several charges after police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in Chatham Sunday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation showed that a woman at the residence had been allegedly assaulted by her ex-husband several times during their relationship.

The accused was arrested and charged with three counts of assault along with one count each of assault causing bodily harm, mischief, forcible confinement, and uttering threats. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man who allegedly damaged parent's home found hiding in a bush

A 23-year-old Chatham man is facing drug and mischief-related charges after he allegedly damaged his parent's home and then hid in a bush.

Police said they found the man hiding in the bush behind the residence while they were investigating a disturbance at a residence in Chatham at around 4 a.m. Monday.

The man also allegedly resisted arrest when officers were taking him into custody.

The accused was charged with two counts of mischief, and one count each of resisting arrest and drug possession.

Another call for tips after ATV stolen

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is putting out another call for tips after an ATV was reported stolen from a barn on Lambton Line a week ago.

Police said the 2015 Yamaha ATV was last seen with Ontario license plate 9DH09 and is valued at approximately $9,000.

Crime Stoppers is looking for tips to help solve the case.

Anyone with information should call 1-800-222-8477 and could be eligible for a cash reward.
