The Middlesex London Health Unit has reported the death of a man in his 50s after he tested positive for COVID-19.
The death toll rose by one on Saturday to a total of 219 since the start of the pandemic.
The deceased male was not associated with a long-term care home or a retirement facility.
The health unit also reported 35 new cases of the virus and 50 more recoveries. There are currently 360 active cases of COVID-19 in London and Middlesex County.
The province reported 1,057 new COVID-19 infections and 15 deaths related to the virus Saturday morning. Hospitalizations in Ontario are down with 934 COVID-19 patients admitted. Of those hospitalized, 627 are in intensive care due to COVID-related illness and 438 are on ventilators.
Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliot said as of 8 p.m. Friday, 8,839,445 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
