Mischief at Wallaceburg walking bridge

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke open the panel box and raised the walking bridge in Wallaceburg over the weekend.

Police said it happened sometime early Sunday morning.

Officers said the bridge was lowered and the panel box was re-secured, but they are still looking for tips from the public that would help them with their investigation.

Raleigh Township break and enter targets laptops

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone entered an unlocked residence on AD Shadd Road on Victoria Day and took off with a MacBook Air and an ASUS laptop.

Police said it's believed the break-in took place sometime between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday.

The laptops have a combined estimated value of $2,500.

Man arrested after traffic stop in Chatham

A 51-year-old man from Charing Cross is facing charges after police pulled him over in Chatham early Tuesday morning.

Police said an officer on general patrol stopped the vehicle on Payne Street at around 1 a.m. and learned that the man was breaching his release conditions, so he was taken into custody and charged accordingly.

He was later released pending a future court date.
