Survey seeks to improve local health care planning

Chatham-Kent residents are being invited to share their opinions to help improve local health care services.

The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team (CKOHT) has launched a survey to get public feedback that will help guide the organization's initiatives.

The CKOHT was one of Ontario's first health teams announced in December 2019. It's made up of local health care providers to provide coordinated care to patients within the community.

The survey asks questions about residents' health, their health care experiences in Chatham-Kent, as well as their preferences on how to access and receive health care.

Information collected through the survey will be shared across the health care system in Chatham-Kent to help improve alignment when planning local health care strategies. Feedback will also help shape the CKOHT's three-year strategic plan.

The survey is anonymous, confidential and completely voluntary.

"This is an opportune time to seek public feedback. We are currently experiencing 15 months of a global pandemic, now is a good time to understand the changing needs of health care for residents of Chatham-Kent", said CKOHT Executive Transformation Lead Melissa Sharpe-Harrigan. "It is of utmost importance to have public input into defining health care design at the local level."

The survey is open for residents of Chatham-Kent until Friday, May 28, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. After completing the survey, respondents will be entered into a draw to win a $50 grocery store gift card.
