Suspicious men turn out to be contracted workers
Chatham-Kent police have solved the case involving a pair of suspicious men who approached a young girl while she was doing her homework in her backyard in Chatham last week.
Police said two men entered the backyard Thursday afternoon and asked the girl about her family's internet and fiber optics. They left when the girl called a family member and took a picture of their van.
Investigators said it turns out the men had been contracted to provide some burial line services in the area.
Police said they spoke to the general manager of the company that hired the men, adding that the "crews will be spoken to in an effort to avoid any further public safety concerns."
