Suspended driver charged

A 26-year-old suspended driver has been charged after he was reportedly caught behind the wheel in Blenheim.

An officer of general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Sandys Street Monday night. Police said the man was suspended from driving because of unpaid fines.

As a result, the 26-year-old was charged of driving while under suspension. He will have to answer for the charge at Provincial Offences Court on May 19. ---

Tools reported stolen

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in on Pioneer Line after approximately $3,500 worth of tools were reported stolen.

Police said the break-in happened at a residence under construction sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

Wanted women arrested

A 32-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted for several offences has been arrested after police were called on Monday night about a suspicious person.

Officers found a woman on Grand Avenue East in Chatham who was wanted for theft under $5,000, being unlawfully in a dwelling, and mischief. She was arrested and later released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 11.

Meanwhile, a wanted 28-year-old Chatham woman was arrested Monday night. She was wanted for theft under $5,000, breaching her probation order, failing to comply with her release conditions, and failing to attend court.
