Health officials in Windsor-Essex reported an increase of 66 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.
According to the local health unit, 28 of Sunday's cases are close contacts of confirmed cases and 12 are community-acquired. The remaining 26 cases are still under investigation.
The overall case count in Windsor-Essex is now at 14,803. As of Sunday, there are 472 active cases and 20 hospitalizations. To date, 458 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified in the region.
The number of outbreaks in the region remained the same over the past 24 hours. There are currently six workplace outbreaks and one school outbreak.
Meanwhile, the number of vaccines that have been administered in Windsor-Essex continues to grow.
As of Sunday, 118,676 residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine, up from 117,627 on Saturday.
Across Ontario, provincial health officials reported 4,250 new cases on Sunday, 18 more deaths and 3,338 additional recoveries.
