Family dispute leads to arrest 

A 60-year-old man is facing an assault charge after a family dispute in Blenheim.

Officers responded to the incident Friday night. Through investigation, police learned that a verbal altercation escalated and turned physical.

The 60-year-old was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Warrant arrests 

Two people have future court dates after a pair of warrant arrests in Wallaceburg.

On Friday afternoon, officers observed a Wallaceburg man on Duke Street who was known to police.

Officers arrested him on an outstanding warrant. He was later released with a future court date.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was with the man was also known to have an outstanding warrant.

She was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
