Active COVID cases in Sarnia-Lambton decline

The number of active COVID-19 infections in Sarnia-Lambton dropped Monday.

Lambton Public Health said there were 11 new confirmed cases for a total of 3,050 since the start of the pandemic.  The number of resolved cases went up 19 to 2,870, lowering the active case count by nine to 127.

The death toll is now at 53 after Bluewater Health reported Sunday that a woman in her 70s died after being admitted from her home, not long-term care.  The hospital had 10 COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Institutional, school and workplace outbreaks decreased again, by one, to four.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
