The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the region Saturday.
Among the new cases, 12 are close contacts of confirmed cases, seven are community-acquired, one is outbreak-related and eight cases are still under investigation.
There are 280 active cases in the region now. Forty-five preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified.
There have been 13,564 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, 12,883 are now resolved. Windsor Essex has had 401 COVID-19 related deaths, a number that has not changed since Tuesday.
There are 14 active outbreaks in the community including two long-term care and retirement facilities, five community outbreaks and seven workplaces.
As of Saturday, 37,487 Windsor-Essex residents have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, up from 33,392 the previous day. So far, 11,935 residents have received both doses.
Meanwhile, Ontario recorded 1,829 new cases of the virus on Saturday out of 52,100 tests processed. There were 593 new cases in Toronto, 287 in Peel and 157 in the York Region.
