100 Women Who Care Chatham-Kent continues to support local groups and charities, despite the ongoing pandemic.
The group choose R.O.C.K. Missions during its online meeting in February, and recently presented them with a cheque for $12,025.
"Funds like this go right back into the community. We serve a population that gets left behind a lot, through no fault of their own, " said Renee Geniole, Treasurer/Chair on R.O.C.K. Missions Board of Directors. "This will go directly towards keeping our program going. We provide 300 lunches twice per week, harm reduction, hygiene products, blankets, everyday necessities people take for granted. Our goal is to rebuild relationships and help get those to services they can't access on their own."
100 Women Who Care Chatham-Kent meet four times a year to choose a group to donate to. Each woman then contributes $100, resulting in a significant donation.
The group has been around since 2016, and in that time, it has donated more than $200,000 to 19 local groups and charities.
