Huron Perth Public Health reports one confirmed case of COVID-19 has a presumptive positive screen for a variant of concern.
Director Donna Taylor says that means the individual probably has a variant of concern.
"Genomic sequencing is needed to confirm that it is a variant of concern, and which variant it is. The Genomic Sequencing will take at least two weeks to complete," said Taylor.
Household members of someone who is quarantining as a high risk contact should stay at home except for essential reasons, which include work and school.
Household members of someone with symptoms of COVID-19 should stay at home until the symptomatic individual receives a negative test result.
Huron Perth Public Health added eleven new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, seven of them in Stratford. There are 24 active cases. The outbreak continues at Stratford Jail. Two people are in hospital. There are no outbreaks at seniors' facilities or school There have been 50 fatalities due to the pandemic.
COVID-19 vaccines clinics for March 8th to March 21st have been filled, as over 55 appointments have been booked.
"Vaccine supply is confirmed for the following two weeks, and they are setting up additional clinics and will make those bookings available as soon as we can," said Taylor.
