Police find wanted man, arrest woman during disturbance call

Two Chatham-Kent residents are facing charges after police responded to a disturbance call in a parking lot on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham Thursday night.

Police said their investigation showed that the man -- who was wanted for assault -- had allegedly damaged the woman's car during an argument.

Officers said the woman was also bound by conditions not to communicate with the man.

Police said they found the man a short distance from the scene on Sheldon Avenue and arrested him.

A 37-year-old Chatham was charged with mischief and facilitating a breach of conditions and a 28-year-old Tilbury woman was charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.

Both of the accused were taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
