COVID count up 11, cases reported in local schools

Lambton Public Health reported another double digit increase in COVID-19 cases Monday.

The health unit said there 11 new infections over the past 24 hours for a total of 2,105 since the end of March.

The number of resolved cases went up 10 to 1,961, the death toll was unchanged at 46, putting the active case count at 98, up one since Sunday.

The number of active outbreaks fell by one to six.

There has been an increase in positive cases in Sarnia-Lambton schools.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has closed a total of five classes after student cases were reported at Gregory A. Hogan in Sarnia, Holy Rosary Wyoming and at St. Joseph Catholic School in Corunna.

The Lambton Kent District School Board COVID-19 advisory page shows one staff case linked to Colonel Cameron Public School in Corunna and one student case at North Lambton Secondary School in Forest. There are now two student cases at Northern Collegiate, up one.

Bluewater Health reported one positive patient in hospital, unchanged from Sunday.
