Seven new COVID-19 cases in Wellington

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health reported seven new and 23 active cases of COVID-19 in Wellington Thursday.  There are seven active cases in Minto, one in Wellington North and one in Mapleton.

The outbreak is over at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Fergus, after it was contained to one staff member. However, a new outbreak has been declared at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home in Fergus. Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health said an essential caregiver for a resident in the Maple Ridge neighbourhood tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the building on February 21. An outbreak continues at Caressant Long Term Care in Arthur.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
