Sarnia-Lambton COVID cases continuing to trend lower

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton continues to decline.

Lambton Public Health reported seven new confirmed cases Thursday for a total of 2,045 since the pandemic began. Another 14 cases are considered resolved, putting the active case count at 65, down seven.

There are seven active institutional outbreaks, an increase of two. One staff member at Good Shepherd's Lodge shelter has tested positive for the virus. Lambton County said Wednesday one staff member had tested positive at Sarnia's Marshall Gowland Manor.

A total of 47 inmates and five staff have tested positive since an outbreak was declared at Sarnia Jail February 7.

At last report, Bluewater Health had no positive patients in hospital.
