An outbreak of COVID-19 at Bluewater Health's General Medicine Unit is over.
The outbreak, declared on January 22, affected a total of six staff members and four patients at the Sarnia site.
The hospital said it's been 14 days since the last positive test was received and enhanced monitoring shows no evidence of further transmission in the unit.
According to provincial directive, two or more linked positive cases within a 14-day span is considered an outbreak.
An outbreak is declared when there's evidence of transmission of the virus within the hospital in a single unit.
With the hospital outbreak declared over, there are eight institutional and workplace outbreaks that are still active.
