London-area logs another 34 COVID-19 cases, zero new deaths

The Middlesex London Health Unit reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday in the region.

The total number of cases in the London-area is now at 5,875 overall with 3,876 recoveries.

For the second day in a row, there were no new deaths reported in the region on Sunday. So far, 177 people have died as a result of the virus in London-Middlesex.

Two institutional outbreaks, within Chartwell Parkhill and Dearness Home, were declared resolved on Sunday. The health unit continues to monitor seven outbreaks at institutions.

Two schools, Kensal Park Public School and Sir Isaac Brock Public School, are both reporting one case of COVID-19 each.

Elsewhere, Southwestern Public Health reported 12 new cases in Elgin and Oxford counties, bringing the total to 2,383.

Across Ontario, 1,489 additional cases were reported on Sunday as well as 22 new deaths and 1,937 recoveries. Overall, Ontario has seen a total of 278,207 cases since the pandemic began.
