COVID-19 death toll continues to rise in Midwestern Ontario

Another COVID-9 fatality was reported by Huron Perth Public Health Friday, bringing the total death toll in the region to 45. There were six new cases added Friday, and two people are in hospital.  There are 73 active cases.  Outbreaks continue at both Seaforth Manor facilities, both Listowel Caressant Care homes,  Hillside Manor Long Term Care in Perth East,   Fordwich Village, and St. Marys Memorial Hospital.

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit added seven new cases of COVID-19 Friday. Two were in Grey Highlands, two in Huron Kinloss, and one each in Southgate, Saugeen Shores and Kincardine. There are 32 active cases.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added another 15 confirmed cases to the list Friday, and 13 people are hospitalized. That included two new cases and three hospitalizations in Wellington County.  The death toll held steady at 20 in Wellington.  There are 39 active cases in Wellington.  In Wellington, outbreaks continue at Caressant Care long term care in Arthur, Wellington Terrace in Fergus, and at Palmerston Hospital.
