Search warrant uncovers fentanyl, firearm, cell phones
Two Blenheim men have been arrested and charged in connection with a drug bust in Blenheim that took place earlier this week.
Chatham-Kent police said officers executed a search warrant at a residence Tuesday night and seized an undisclosed quantity of suspected fentanyl and hydromorph along with a firearm, a digital scale, three cell phones, and some cash.
A 30-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
A 27-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. He was later released pending a future court date.

Wanted man arrested for shoplifting lottery tickets
A 32-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for shoplifting and failing to attend court has been arrested after police caught up with him while they were investigating a theft of lottery tickets from a convenience store.
Police said they were called to the convenience store on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg Wednesday afternoon and were able to identify a suspect.
Officers arrested him and later learned that he was also wanted in connection with two other shoplifting incidents in Chatham along with failing to attend court.
Police said the man was charged with three counts of theft, three counts of possession of stolen property, and one count of failing ot attend court. He was later released pending a future court date.

Dresden man accused of assaulting female passenger
A tip about a man trying to push a woman out of a stopped vehicle in Chatham led police to arrest a 36-year-old Dresden man Wednesday afternoon.
Police said a concerned citizen called 911 to report the incident Wednesday afternoon, adding that the caller was also able to provide officers with the vehicle's license plate and its last known direction of travel.
An officer on general patrol was able to track down the vehicle a short distance away and pulled it over.
The female passenger was taken to a safe place and a man was arrested and charged with assault in connection with the investigation.
He was later released pending a future court date.

Chatham man arrested for breaching probation
A 33-year-old Chatham man who had been ordered twice to stay away from a specific Chatham woman is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly paid her a visit Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the man was under two separate probation orders from April 6, 2020, and November 3, 2020 that both stated he was not to communicate with the woman or attend her residence.
Despite those orders, police said the man showed up at her home on Wednesday and officers arrested him a short distance away.
Police said they also allegedly found some suspected methamphetamine on the man when they searched him.
The accused was charged with one count of drug possession and four counts of failing to comply with his probation orders.
He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Cell phones stolen from Koodo booth
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone broke into the Downtown Chatham Centre earlier this week and took off with about $2,000 worth of cell phones from the Koodo Mobile kiosk.
Police said the theft took place sometime either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, adding the damage caused by the break-in was estimated at $1,000.

Seven arrests on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police managed to clean up their wanted list a bit over the past day and a half, arresting seven people who all had outstanding warrants for a variety of offences.
A 50-year-old man of no fixed address who was wanted for theft and fraud-related offences was arrested in Chatham Wednesday morning. He was later released pending a future court date.
A 31-year-old Euphemia Township man who was wanted for failing to comply with his probation order was arrested in Blenheim Wednesday afternoon. He was also released pending a future court date.
A 40-year-old man of no fixed address who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions was arrested in Wallaceburg Wednesday night while police were investigating a report of a family dispute. He was taken into custody overnight.
A 24-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for failing to comply with his probation order was arrested in Chatham Wednesday night after an officer on general patrol saw him walking on Richmond Street. He was later released pending a future court date.
A 35-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with three separate break and enters was arrested at Access Storage in Blenheim early Thursday morning. He was later released pending a future court date.
A 34-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with a break and enter at a convenience store and failing to comply with his release conditions was arrested in Wallaceburg early Thursday morning. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
A 36-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at Sobeys in Blenheim and a domestic-related dangerous driving incident was arrested early Thursday morning in Chatham. She was later released pending a future court date.
