A new 50/50 raffle in Chatham-Kent aims support two local charities and comes with a guaranteed prize of at least $10,000 for a lucky winner.
Tickets for the CK Charity 50/50 Raffle are now available until April 8, 2021. Money raised through the raffle will support both the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation and the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCF).
“This year has been challenging for charities who have had to cancel or re-imagine long standing events and come up with new creative ways to fundraise. This collaboration gives Chatham-Kent the opportunity to support two local charities who care for families from across our community,” said CTCF President Mike Genge.
Tickets will only be sold online through the CK Charity 50/50 website.
A 50/50 winner will be announced during a Facebook Live event on April 8 at 1 p.m. The draw will be made using Random Number Generation, which is approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
“When you buy a ticket you not only get a chance to win big but you can feel twice as good about your purchase because you are doing good in our community at the same time,” said Jodi Maroney, executive director of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
50/50 tickets are priced at 10 tickets for $10, 60 tickets for $20, or 200 tickets for $50.
The Chatham-Kent Hospice provides end-of-life care and relies heavily on donations. The Foundation said $108,000 in donations is needed each month to support operational needs at the Hospice. Meanwhile, the Children's Treatment Centre provides care and therapy to children and youth in Chatham-Kent who have physical, developmental, or communication challenges.
