Local COVID caseload up 17, outbreaks down one

Lambton Public Health is reporting 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In its daily update Thursday, the local health agency reported 1,807 cases of the virus since March 25, up from 1,790 on Wednesday.

There's been 10 more cases deemed resolved, up to 1,667, and the active case count is up seven to 104.

There are seven institutional and workplace outbreaks, down from eight. An outbreak declared at the Sarnia Jail on January 15 has been deemed over. 

Bluewater Health is reporting seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Wednesday.

Since the start of the pandemic, just over 90,800 residents have been tested for the virus.

The health unit said 4,231 individuals were tested in the last week alone, 2.3 per cent were positive for COVID.
