Huron Perth Public Health added six new cases of COVID-19 to the list of active cases Wednesday. The number of fatalities due to the virus increased by two people, for a total of 38. Four of the new cases were in Huron East, one in Central Huron and one in Bluewater. There are 113 active cases, and five people are in hospital. Outbreaks continue at Caressant Care in Listowel and Seaforth Manor. The outbreaks are over at Exeter Villa and Stratford General hospital.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 42 new cases. There are 466 active cases and eleven hospitalizations due to COVID-19. 69 people have succumbed to the virus. Just one of those new cases was added in Wellington County for the second straight day. There are 104 active cases in Wellington, and four people hospitalized. There have been 15 fatalities. There are twelve active outbreaks across the public health jurisdiction including Caressant Care in Arthur, and Wellington Terrace, which is located in Fergus.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit added four new cases Wednesday, for a total of 25 active cases. The new cases were in Owen Sound, Arran Elderslie, South Bruce Peninsula, and Kincardine. There are still two people hospitalized, with one of them intubated. The health unit has received 800 doses of COVID-19 vaccine so far, and administered 390 doses. There are no active outbreaks. There have been no fatalities.
