Intoxicated man arrested for threatening officer at CKPS HQ
A 62-year-old Tilbury man spent some time sobering up in police custody on Wednesday after he allegedly threatened the front desk officer at Chatham-Kent police headquarters.
Officers said the man was intoxicated when he showed up at the building and was '"belligerent", so he was arrested and held in custody until he was able to care for himself again.
Police said he was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Woman accused of shoplifting groceries
A 44-year-old Ridgetown woman is facing charges after she allegedly walked out of the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham with about $400 worth of groceries without paying for them.
Police said they were called to the store late Wednesday afternoon.
The accused was arrested, charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime, and then released with a future court date.

Man accuse of assaulting his common-law wife
A 35-year-old man is charged with assault after he allegedly hit his common-law wife during a disagreement at their apartment in Wallaceburg early Thursday morning.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the residence for a domestic disturbance at around 3 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the woman who was assaulted was taken to the hospital in Wallaceburg for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The accused was arrested, charged, and set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sunglasses stolen during Wallaceburg break-in
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they investigate a break-in at New Vision Optical on James Street in Wallaceburg.
Police said they responded to an alarm at the business at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and saw that someone had smashed the front glass door to the business and had taken off with about $10,000 worth of Maui Jim and Bolle sunglasses.

Cube van reported stolen in Blenheim
Chatham-Kent police are also asking for tips from the public in connection with a vehicle theft on Marlborough Street in Blenheim.
Police said sometime Monday night, someone stole a white 20-foot 2010 cube van from a business there.
The side of the truck had the company name 'Specialty Aluminum Products' and it had 6-8 red and blue racks inside for windows.
The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates 150 3MH.
