Midwestern Ontario recorded new COVID-19 cases Wednesday.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit added 17 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, for a total of 52 active cases. Owen Sound has four new cases, Chatsworth recorded three, Hanover had two , Blue Mountains had two, Huron Kinloss added two , West Grey added two, and there was one each in Meaford and South Bruce. Huron Perth Public Health added five new cases to the list of active COVID-19 infections Wednesday, one in Stratford, three in North Perth and one in Howick Township. There are 100 active cases, and 353 people are currently in isolation. Four people are hospitalized and nine health care workers are infected with COVID. Outbreaks continue at four long term care homes and two retirement homes.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reports 70 new cases of COVID-19 today, for a total of 438 active cases. There are nine people in hospital. Eight of the new cases are in Wellington County, where there are 74 active cases, and four hospitalizations. Outbreaks continue at the Caressant Care Long Term Care and Retirement homes in Arthur, along with Royal Terrace Long Term Care in Palmerston.
