Huron County will offer emergency licensed child care in the early part of January as part of provincial COVID-19 lockdown measures.
In a release on December 30th, Huron County says that all publicly funded elementary schools will be closed for in-person learning and students enrolled will move to virtual learning for the week of January 4 to January 8, 2021. Frontline and essential workers will continue to work during this time, and so the county will offer emergency child care services during that week at no cost to essential and frontline workers. Emergency Licensed Child Care services are reserved exclusively for children of essential workers identified in the Province of Ontario’s List of Workers Eligible for Emergency Child Care, who have exhausted all other alternatives.
To apply for the emergency licensed child care services for essential and frontline workers in Huron County, visit the county website to find an application.
