With Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 numbers rapidly rising, preparations are being made to make sure the area is ready when vaccines become available.
Lambton Public Health and Bluewater Health said in a joint statement Wednesday that they're working together to coordinate the initial delivery to priority populations in the county.
"While a date has not been set by the province for Lambton County to receive vaccines, rest assured that we are working closely on a comprehensive distribution plan, and are prepared to receive notification from the government," the statement read. "Factors considered in the roll-out include site selection, security, storage requirements, stakeholder involvement, and more. Multiple scenarios and plans are required due to the complexity of needs associated with different vaccines."
The health unit and hospital said they will continue to work with regional and local partners to ensure information is shared as it becomes available.
