The Wyoming Community Foundation is contributing $25,000 over the next three years towards the remodeling of the new Health and Wellness Centre.
The new facility is located at the former TD Bank property at 596 Broadway Street.
In a news release, the foundation said it was extremely pleased to be able to support the project.
"This is a welcome addition to the services that are available to residents in our town. The foundation has contributed more than $450,000 since 2003 to further benefit the area, and is very happy to contribute to this project.”
Mayor Lonny Napper is thrilled about the support from the community.
"The Plympton-Wyoming Wellness Centre is going to be a wonderful addition to our community; offering both physician appointments and a variety of informative clinics," said Napper. "It is wonderful when charitable organizations and municipalities can work towards beneficial projects such as this one."
The property is currently home to the Rural Lambton COVID Testing Centre.
Mayor Napper had previously said the plan is to have outreach programs for things like diabetes, smoking cessation, and healthy babies.
He said it could become a full-fledged medical clinic in the future.
Other donations to the centre announced previously include $50,000 from the Wyoming Lions Club and $25,000 from the Plympton-Wyoming Agricultural Society.
