COVID cases up 15 in Sarnia-Lambton

Sarnia-Lambton's health unit reported another big increase in new COVID-19 cases Tuesday.

Lambton Public Health, in its daily update, reported 15 new cases for a total of 538. Recoveries went up eight at 437, deaths were unchanged at 28, which means the number of active cases increased seven to 73.

The health unit is still reporting seven outbreaks, six at workplaces and one at Trillium Villa nursing home in Sarnia where two staff have tested positive. The six workplace outbreaks account for 26 confirmed cases.

Bluewater Health reported two positive patients in hospital Tuesday, up one, while the number of patient deaths was unchanged at 19.

Over the past nine days, Lambton Public Health has reported 91 new COVID-19 cases.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
