Director of Education Lori Wilder says they have been very fortunate to have low COVID-19 case numbers and no evidence of transmission in Grey Bruce schools. but she adds everyone must remain vigilant and prepared for every eventuality.'

A letter to parents and guardians asks them to ensure they are familiar with their online learning environment and that they can access it from home, using their login and password. Also make sure teachers and schools have up-to-date contact information.

Wilder says they have been assessing the technology needs of families in each school community and will communicate further on this matter should the need arise.

The province is recommending that students and staff take home any materials they may require for remote learning before leaving school for the holidays.

In the letter, Wilder told parents and guardians, "Thank you as always for your patience, understanding, and support during these unprecedented times. I wish you all the very best for the holidays and am hopeful that we will see everyone back at school in person on January 4, 2021."
