Man charged with failing to comply
A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions after he allegedly showed up at a woman's home even though he had been ordered to stay away from her.
Police said they arrested the man while they were following up on a domestic disturbance call at a residence in Chatham Monday morning.
The accused was charged and taken into custody pending a bail hearing and was then taken back into custody for the night.

Chatham-Kent police said it's in connection with a break-in that took place sometime between 9 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday at two storage units on Old Glass Road in Wallaceburg.
Officers said someone forced their way into the units and took off with cash, a black 42" RCA television, a ladies yellow gold ring with a diamond solitaire, a ladies opal ring with diamond studs, yellow gold, and a diamond tennis bracelet and a blue cooler.

Meat thief arrested in Chatham
A 47-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly took off with $225 worth of meat from the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham without paying for it.
Police said they arrested him after officers responded to a shoplifting complaint Monday afternoon.
The accused was charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime and he was later released with a future court date.

Police look to identify theft suspect
Chatham-Kent police are asking for help in identifying a man in connection with a theft at Aaron’s on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Police said a laptop was reported stolen last Saturday.

Six arrests on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police had a busy start to the week as they caught up with several people on their naughty list.
First up, a 25-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for domestic violence offences, fraud-related offences, and failing to attend court was arrested Monday morning. He was later released pending a future court date.
Police also arrested a 42-year-old Wheatley man on Monday morning who was wanted on a surety relief warrant. Police said their investigation also showed that he allegedly violated several of his release conditions, so he was charged accordingly and was set to be held in custody until December 16.
A third arrest took place on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg Monday night. Police said they picked up a 32-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for drug possession, theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to attend court for a fingerprinting appointment.
Police arrested a fourth suspect in Chatham Monday night -- a 39-year-old Chatham woman wanted for fraud-related offences and failing to attend court. She was later released with a future court date.
In the fifth case, a 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested Monday night in Chatham in connection with two stolen motor vehicle investigations.
Police said she was charged with one count each of failing to comply with her curfew, theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of possession of stolen property. She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
In the sixth case, a 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after an officer on general patrol pulled over a vehicle on Baxter Street in Chatham. Police said the officer learned that the passenger in the vehicle was wanted on two outstanding warrants and was also out past his curfew -- he wasn't supposed to be out between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
As a result, he was arrested, charged with failing to comply with his release conditions, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic stop turns up suspended driver
A 50-year-old Chatham man who had three good reasons not to be behind the wheel is facing a trio of charges after he was caught driving around in Chatham Monday night.
Police said the officer who pulled the man over on Park Avenue in Chatham learned that he was currently suspended from driving for unpaid fines, remedial measures, and medical reasons.
As a result, the man was charged accordingly and is scheduled to answer to those charges at the provincial offences court in January.
