Tilbury and Wheatley library branches to suspend service

Two library branches in Chatham-Kent are suspending in-person services due to rising COVID-19 cases.

The public will no longer be able to enter the Tilbury and Wheatley branches as of Monday, however, the two locations will offer curbside pickup

"Due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the area, Chatham-Kent Public Library is changing scheduled library service to the Tilbury and Wheatley communities to help keep residents safe and healthy," library officials said in a news release.

Curbside service will be available during normal open hours at the two branches.

As of Friday, Chatham-Kent Public Health reported 33 active cases of COVID-19 with one person hospitalized. The health unit has reported a total of 543 cases of the virus since the beginning of the pandemic and three deaths.
