The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday. Two new cases were located in Saugeen Shores, two in Grey Highlands, and one each in Brockton, South Bruce, Southgate, and Arran Elderslie.
There are 30 active cases and five active probable cases. They are associated with 203 high risk contacts. Four people are in hospital. There are no outbreaks.
Huron Perth Public Health reported five new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and 34 active cases.
All of the new cases were located in North Perth. Three people are in hospital.
The number of fatalities associated with COVID-19 increased by one to 20 deaths.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says the latest victim was a resident of Cedarcroft Retirement Home in Stratford, where an outbreak continues. One staff member and one resident are still sick.
The outbreak at Seaforth Long Term Care has been declared over but outbreaks continue at the Medicine Unit at Stratford Hospital, Northside Christian School and St. Mary's Catholic School in Listowel. However, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen says the growth in cases is leveling off, and she will not recommend any change from the current orange level of public health restrictions.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 67 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 to the active list Thursday. There are 241 active cases, and 13 people are in hospital.
In just Wellington County, there were two new cases, and there are 25 active cases. Two people are in hospital. The outbreak continues at Caressant Care in Harriston.
