COVID-19 case confirmed at London high school

A positive case of COVID-19 has been identified by the Middlesex-London Health Unit at a London school.

The case was confirmed at Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School by the London District Catholic School Board on Saturday.

Parents, guardians and staff within the school community have been notified of the case. The school will stay open and school buses will continue to operate.

“The Middlesex-London Health Unit is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying the individual’s close contacts,” the  London District Catholic School Board said in a media release. “The Middlesex-London Health Unit will provide advice and support to close contacts in navigating this situation.”

Only students and staff who are identified as close contacts will be contacted by the health unit. Staff at Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School will work with students and families to ensure learning continues for those who are self-isolating at home.

There has been a total of 58 COVID-19 cases in school settings so far in London-Middlesex.
