COVID outbreak declared at Sarnia-Lambton workplace

Lambton Public Health is reporting an outbreak of COVID-19 at an unnamed workplace.

Two positive cases are linked to the outbreak declared Thursday and the local health agency says contact tracing is underway.

Workplaces will only be named if the health unit believes public notification will help identify close contacts.

The number of confirmed cases is up three from Thursday to 420, as well as one more resolved case up to 377, resulting in 18 active cases.

Bluewater Health updated its website Friday to report zero positive patients, down from one Thursday. The hospital said the patient remains in hospital but is no longer COVID-positive.

There has not been a local COVID-related death in almost six months and the death toll stands at 25.

On Monday, Sarnia-Lambton moved into the yellow "protect" level in the province's COVID-19 response framework.
