19 additional COVID-19 cases in London-area

London-Middlesex reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The latest cases bring the regional case count to 1,564.

Ten additional recoveries were also reported on Saturday. So far, 1,354 individuals in the London-area have recovered from the virus while 66 people have died from the virus in the region. The latest two deaths, a man in his 70s and a man in his 80s, were reported on Friday.

There are currently seven active institutional outbreaks in the region, six of which are at the London Health Sciences Centre.  There are also two active outbreaks at Western University residences.

Elsewhere, Ontario recorded 1,822 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Provincial health officials also reported 29 additional deaths and 1,510 recoveries.
