Dozen's of new cases of COVID-19 were added in Midwestern Ontario Thursday, along with some new facility outbreaks.
There are 31 active cases of COVID-19 being reported in Huron Perth. Another staff member tested positive at Cedarcroft retirement in Stratford, which is battling an ongoing outbreak. Two residents are still sick, and eleven have died. Two community members in Huron Perth are hospitalized due to COVID-19. Six New cases were confirmed today in Stratford, one in North Huron, and three in Perth East. There have also been cases at Northside Christian School near Listowel, Anne Hathaway in Stratford, St. Ambrose School in Stratford, and a few private Christian schools in both Huron and in Perth. A cohort has been dismissed at Goderich District Collegiate institute as a an investigation begins into a recently identified case there.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported thirteen new cases of COVID-19 Thursday in Wellington County, and another person with COVID-19 has passed away. There have been five deaths in the county. There are 61 active cases and one hospitalization. Outbreaks continue at Birmingham Retirement Community in Mount Forest, Caressant Care in Arthur, Caressant Care in Fergus and Royal Terrace in Palmerston.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with Golden Dawn Long-Term Care to address a single case of COVID-19 associated with a staff member there.
There are ten new case in Grey Bruce, equalling 55 active cases, with three people hospitalized. There is one preliminary positive case, and 248 high risk contacts to active cases.
Three cases were confirmed Thursday in Grey Highlands, two in Blue Mountains , two in Arran-Elderslie , two in Southgate, and one in Northern Bruce Peninsula.
