Alleged shoplifter arrested
A 23-year-old Chatham man accused of shoplifting an MP3 player has been arrested.
Police said a theft complaint was reported at a business in Wallaceburg on Sunday morning around 9:15 a.m.
The 23-year-old allegedly slipped an MP3 player into his coat pocket and ran towards the door without paying for the item. Police said the incident was caught on video.
A suspect was arrested for theft and possession of property obtained by crime. He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent police are reminding drivers to "give buses a brake."
Motorists are being reminded to stop for school buses when red lights are flashing and to leave a safe amount of distance for children to cross.
Those who try to pass a stopped school bus that's dropping off or picking up students could face a fine of up to $2,000 for a first offence and six demerit points. Fines may increase for each time the offence is committed with the possibility of jail time.
"Everyone has a part to play when it comes to road safety," read a media release from Chatham-Kent Police Service.
