Scattered outages continue in Chatham-Kent

A couple dozen Hydro One customers in Chatham-Kent are still without power following Sunday's wind storm.

The hydro company updated its outage map Wednesday morning, reporting small pockets of outages in Prairie Siding, Dover Centre, Tupperville, Walpole Island, and Erieau with restoration not expected until Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The wind storm on Sunday brought gusts up to up to 110 kilometres per hour across southwestern Ontario.  Hydro One said it was the most significant wind storm the province had seen since May 2018, causing around 400 broken poles in addition to downed trees that fell on power lines.

Hydro crews and neighbouring utilities are assisting in the hardest-hit areas, Hydro One said.

So far, power has been restored to 370,000 customers across the province.
