The Grey and Bruce region will stay 'green' under the province's COVID-19 colour code.
As of Friday, the Grey Bruce Health Unit did report five new cases, two in Hanover, two in Kincardine and one in Brockton. There is also one preliminary positive case pending confirmation.
The five confirmed cases bring the total active case count up to 20. There are no hospitalizations or outbreaks being reported at this time.
Bruce and Grey is one of 15 regions across the province that will stay under the Green - Prevent code.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says he understands people are getting what he calls fatigued when it comes to the guidelines in place.
"But it is of critical importance for all of us to keep our guard up, to keep the three Ws; washing hands frequently, watching our distance 2 metres or more when possible and wearing a mask correctly whenever indoors."
The province did shuffle some regions into different categories as Huron and Perth will move into Yellow - Protect on Monday and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph will shift to Orange - Restrict. This is due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
"You look at the numbers and see how alarming they are," added Dr. Arra. "And the messaging should be for all of us to double down and do our best until we have the vaccine in place."
