Police find meth on local woman
A 31-year-old Chatham woman is in trouble with police again after they allegedly found some illegal drugs on her when she was out past her curfew.
Chatham-Kent police said an officer on general patrol saw the woman riding a bike on Baxter Street in Chatham at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday even though she had previously been ordered to obey a daily curfew of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Police said she didn't have a light on her bicycle, either.
The officer stopped the woman, arrested her, and allegedly found some suspected methamphetamine on her while she was being searched.
She was charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and drug possession and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Pair arrested for hanging out together
A call about a neighbour dispute in Wallaceburg Thursday morning ended with a pair of arrests.
Police said when they arrived at the residence on Pine Drive, they found a man and a woman together in a home who had previously been ordered to stay away from each other.
As a result, a 20-year-old man of no fixed address and a 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman were both charged with failing to comply with their release conditions. They were both later released with a future court date.

Chatham man arrested in domestic violence case
A 51-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with three domestic violence-related offences Thursday after police were called in to help keep the peace while a woman retrieved some property from her home.
Police said through their investigation, they learned that the man had previously assaulted the woman and had refused to allow her to leave the home during an argument.
As a result, he was charged with two counts of assault and one count of forcible confinement.
He was released pending a future court date.

Man accused of breaching probation
A 35-year-old man of no fixed address who was previously banned from going to Wallaceburg was arrested after police allegedly found him there at around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Officers said they found the man in a parking lot on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg while they were following up on a tip about a suspicious man.
Police said when they were able to confirm the man's identity, they arrested him for failing to comply with his probation order.
The accused was later charged and taken into custody.

Two wanted men arrested
Chatham-Kent police can cross two more names off of their wanted list.
Officers arrested a 37-year-old Chatham man on King Street East in Chatham Thursday morning who was wanted for breaching his probation by disobeying his curfew. He was later released with a future court date.
In a separate case, a 41-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for possession of counterfeit money and using counterfeit money at a local business in Chatham earlier this month was arrested Thursday afternoon. He was charged and later released with a future court date.

Riding lawn mower stolen from shed
Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for help to track down a red Toro MX5000 riding lawn mower that was reported stolen from a shed on McCreary Line sometime early Friday morning.
