Seven new COVID-19 cases in Windsor-Essex

Windsor-Essex saw a handful of additional COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The local health unit reported seven new cases, bringing the regional case count to 2,794.

One of the latest cases is from close contact with a confirmed case while the remaining six are still under investigation.

There were no additional recoveries reported over the past 24 hours. A total of 2,686 of the total cases in Windsor-Essex are listed as being resolved.

There remained a COVID-19 outbreak at a workplace in Lakeshore and one at a workplace in Kingsville.

Meanwhile, provincial health officials reported 1,042 new cases of the virus on Sunday, setting a new record for daily cases reported.

Health Minister Christine Elliot urged people to continue to follow public health advice to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
