Man charged after domestic incident

A man is facing a trio of charges after a domestic disturbance in Chatham.

Officers responded to the disturbance between a man and a woman in the area of McNaughton Avenue West.

The man allegedly damaged the women's property, assaulted her and confined her to her bedroom.

The victim was able to call 9-1-1 for help and officers arrested the man without incident.

He was charged with assault, mischief, and forcible confinement. The man was transported to headquarters and held for bail.

Bail violation in Chatham

A man will have to answer to charges after getting pulled over in Chatham.

Police pulled over the vehicle on Grand Avenue West for stolen licence plates.

Officers arrested the man for possession of stolen property and while searching the vehicle, located a replica airsoft firearm in the vehicle.

The man was on conditions not possess replica firearms and was additionally charged.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

Break and enter in storage shed

Police are investigating after a storage shed was broken into in Chatham.

An unknown person broke into a storage shed at Maple City Storage by cutting a lock.

Around $7,500 worth of items were stolen including 20" black rims, a Samsung washer and dryer, DeWalt skill saw, miscellaneous tools, and other personal belongings. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Warrant arrest 

In the area of Princess Street in Chatham, police located a man who had a surety relief warrant for his arrest.

Police arrested and transported the male to CKPS headquarters where he was held for bail.
