ABCA forced to change Owl Prowl tours due to COVID-19

COVID-19 has forced the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority to make some changes to their annual Owl Prowl because of COVID-19.

Conservation Educator Denise Iszczuk said they've had to cancel the traditional and very popular Owl Prowl, but instead, they're offering Owl Prowl hikes for families or small groups.

"So small groups of ten that would come out for a traditional owl prowl, guided by one of our education staff on a couple of evenings, mostly Saturday night, but there are a few Friday nights available throughout November and then even into December."

Iszczuk said they actually have two starting points for the Owl Prowl hike.

"We actually have two locations that we're offering these hikes and that's at Morrison Dam Conservation Area as well as McNaughton Park in Exeter. So we have, kind of, two start locations for that and then to register, you can go to Eventbrite or feel free to call the office."

Iszczuk said there are a few restrictions, as people are asked to practice social distancing on the hikes and the number of people on a hike will be limited and hikers are asked to bring a mask.

People can get more information about the Owl Prowl hike by going to the website: https://www.eventbrite.ca/o/ausable-bayfield-conservation-authority-31349322821
