After a surge of new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the London-area saw a decrease in cases on Saturday.
The Middlesex London Health Unit reported three new cases of the virus on Saturday, bringing the regional case count to 954.
On Friday, the health unit reported 19 new cases, marking the highest number of cases recorded in a single day since April 16.
There were also a dozen new resolved cases reported on Saturday, bringing the number of people who have recovered from the virus in the region to 831.
There are currently six institution outbreaks in the London-area. The Middlesex London Health Unit is also reporting several active COVID-19 cases at school settings in the region- a student case at Saunders Secondary School, a confirmed staff case at École élémentaire La Pommeraie and a staff case at Escale La Pommeraie in London
Southwestern Public Health, the health unit covering St. Thomas, Woodstock and Elgin and Oxford counties, reported zero new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, provincial health officials reported 809 new cases on Saturday.
