Expanded assessment hours in Hanover

The Hanover and District Hospital says it will expand COVID-19 assessment centre hours and introduce booked appointments in the hopes of cutting down on long wait times starting Thursday.

HDH said over the past two weeks, the hospital's assessment centre has seen an increase in patient volumes more than quadrupling the number of patients seen at the end of August.

Booked appointments will assist in dispersing the patient volumes over operating hours for the centre, while walk-in patients will continue to be welcomed and be seen at the earliest opportunity.

Depending on volumes, walk-in patients may not be seen and may be asked to come back another day.

A frequently-asked questions page regarding Hanover's COVID-19 Assessment Centre can be found on the hospital's website.
