There's been a slight uptick in the number of students opting for virtual learning in the Lambton Kent District School Board.
Director of Education John Howitt said some parents have been shifting between the in-class and online options.
"It looks like we're going to be landing in the 12 to 13 per cent range for families that are choosing the virtual school, which means 85 to 87 per cent choosing the face-to-face instruction."
Howitt said students intending to learn at their virtual school will maintain a connection with their home school.
"It will have its own principal, its own clinicians, its own social workers, its own resource teachers, its own teachers, its own ECEs, support staff, education workers, ect., however, there will still be a connection with the home school."
He said they plan to have classmates from the in-person and virtual schools still graduate together.
The first day of school for Learn at Home instruction is Monday, September 14.
On Thursday, both the public and Catholic school boards announced staggered start dates for the beginning of school in September have been pushed back.
